Near the River Run Campground, there is plenty of shopping, churches, banks, and libraries within a few miles of us. We are located 1 mile from the south entrance of Ichetucknee State Park which has crystal clear water and the temperature is 72 degrees year round. You can enjoy tubing down Florida's most pristine spring-fed rivers. The fishing is great in this area, and there are several caves for people who like to dive.

Gainesville home of the Florida Gators is less than an hour's drive from the campground. Also in Gainesville, you can visit the Butterfly Rain Forest and Botanical Gardens.

Did you know that we are approximately 3 hours from St Augustine, which is the oldest city in Florida. St. Augustine was founded in 1565 by Stephen Foster. A Stephen Foster folk culture center is about a 1-hour drive from the grounds. The center honors the great Stephen Foster who is the composer of the song "Way down upon the Suwannee River". Also for the golfers out there, you can enjoy three different golf courses in the area which are within a 30-minute drive.

If you are interested in the Civil War, the Olustee Battle Field State Park has a small center to preserve the site of this states largest civil battle, and monuments to the union and confederate armies are open to the public. There will be a reenactment war on February 15th thru 18th 2008.
